Head of Research Group Macroeconomic Analysis, German Economic Institute

Galina Kolev is Professor for International Economics at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, Germany and Head of Research Group Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecast at the German Economic Institute (IW) in Cologne, Germany. She holds a PhD (German Dr. rer. Pol.) in Economics from the University of Mannheim with focus on issues regarding the European economic and monetary integration. In 2007 she was guest researcher at the Bulgarian National Bank. In 2017 she participated in the Wilton Park British-German Young Leaders Forum. In 2018 Galina Kolev was part of the American-German Situation Room at the German Marshall Fund and the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies in Washington D.C. Her current research covers a broad range of topics from the field of macroeconomics and international economics, especially economic forecasts, international macroeconomics and trade policy. She is an appreciated interview partner for German and other international print, radio and tv media.
