PAVLINA R. TCHERNEVA, Ph.D., is Professor of Economics, Department Chair, and Research Scholar at Bard College and the Levy Economics Institute in New York. She specializes in monetary macroeconomics.
She began her career as an economic forecaster for the oldest forecasting publication in the United States, The Levy Forecast, which specializes in forecasting corporate profits.
Today she consults with Central Banks and Governments from around the world on macroeconomic stabilization programs. Most recently, she presented two institutional and policy reforms at the European Central Bank. In 2016, she consulted for Bernie Sanders’ Campaign for President of the U.S.
Her research is regularly featured in top media outlets such as Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Reuters, New York Times, NPR, and others.
Her book Full Employment and Price Stability reinterprets the proposals of the late Nobel Laureate William Vickrey for the modern day.
